"Not that interesting" 2010-02-21
By Lindsey (San Jose, CA USA)
Although the bug is cute, my daughter really wasn't into it. She started out with the Eric Carle ladybug that is similar overall, but she preferred the ladybug to the bug. My daughter from 1 month now to 9 months, just chucks this toy aside in preference for more interesting toys.

"A lot going on here!" 2010-01-23
By A. Simeone (USA)
I know the Peacock is really popular, but I actually like this version better because with the legs you have more for the baby to grab & play with. I have the Peacock, the Giraffe and the Firefly, and it seems with all the crinkling (from the Firefly & Peacock) my daughter would become over-stimulated and actually would get upset after playing with them for a while. This one is a nice break from all the crinkling. The whole series is great though I can dangle them from her play mat, her car seat, her bouncy chair, and I can even get them to dangle from her jumperoo.

"My 4 month old's favourite toy!" 2009-09-05
By darcyjae (boston, ma)
This is and has been been my four month old daughter's absolute favourite toy. Her "spidey" hangs on the bottom strap of her carseat (which is also her stroller) and accompanies her on every outing. She has loved it since she was two months old.

Editorial Review

Baby loves crawling through the big blue front door into a two-sided playhouse that encourages exploration of everyday activities and introduces the alphabet and numbers. With soothing music, traditional sing-a-long songs and sounds, the Fisher-Price Laugh and Learn Learning Home with shape-sorter and two interactive play modes makes the experience of learning a joy. Baby will learn from cause and effect activities and be rewarded for taking risks. It measures 29" x 22" x 32 and it requires 3 "C" batteries, which are not included.
There’s no one in the world busier than babies and toddlers. But even the most curious and active little explorer may have met their match with this entertaining two-sided play house. On the "outdoor" side, there are doorbell chimes, a rolling garden display, a flower that grows, a mailbox for letters, a sun and moon dial, and more. "Indoor" features include a light switch and a singing clock. There are 21 songs, all of which are easily heard, electronic, and activated by touching, tweaking, or pulling parts of the play set. Our favorite component involved dropping balls down a water spout to hear the itsy-bitsy spider song. --Charlie Williams

"The Kids (and Adults) Love The Learning Home" 2010-02-10
By Debbi
I admit I hesitated purchasing the Learning Home. The price seemed high. Well, it was worth every penny. It is well constructed and my 8-month granddaughter and her 2 1/2-year brother really enjoy it. There are so many things to do but it doesn't overwhelm the senses like a lot of activity games. The colors are happy colors. The noises and music are fun. It occupies the kids and rumor has it that Grandma even sits down and opens and closes things, presses the buttons, turns the knobs... I recommend it without reservation!

"My baby's favourite toy" 2010-02-03
By Khasha L.
We bought this for our daughter's 1st birthday and wish we'd had it sooner! Most toys she bores of quickly. Not this one. She absolutely loves it. She dances to the songs, she carries the letters around, she pulls the shapes off the house, she plays with the clock, spins the flower, and it just goes on! Even when she has enough for the moment, she always comes back to it.

This was totally worth the money. It's so easy to interact and play along with her. It's provided hours and hours of fun for all of us. If you only get 1 toy for your tot, this is the one. It's wonderful.

If she could, my daughter would give it two tiny thumbs up.

"warning: not for children under 3 years" 2010-01-07
By Tammy Klein (Israel)
How is it that the toy has a warning "choking hazard: small parts. not for children under 3 years" on the one hand, and on the other, its recommended ages is "from 6 months to 3 years"?! Pay attention to the warning, u can miss it ...

"Best Toy Ever!" 2010-01-04
By Wyatt's Mama (Omaha, NE)
Santa gave this to our 10 month old son for Christmas and he has been playing with it NON-STOP! He loves the door, light switch, and door bell. I love that he can pull himself up on it and it does not tip over! I believe Toys R Us has this on sale sometimes for $69.99, but no matter the cost, it is a GREAT toy!

"Excellent toy; long-term use potential" 2010-01-04
By J. Turner (BFT, SC United States)
Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R3VHI97AGZCC5R Fisher-Price Learning Home. Excellent product. Purchased at TRU in Dec 09 for significantly less $ than offered here. Don't be fooled by its size-- when placed against a wall, it doesn't take up much room at all. There is a handle for carrying at the top-- this product is light enough to be carried from room to room with one hand, though it is a bit ackward because of its shape. Sturdy enough for child new to standing/walking to pull up on without tipping. Expect to get many more months of use out of this product.

Kids will love to "peel" these realistic fruits! This brightly colored set of plastic fruit comes apart into segments and can be "peeled," so children can pretend-slice fruit or create fruit salad in the bowl. Our 13-piece set includes a fruit bowl, apple, strawberry, grape, orange, watermelon, peach, pineapple, pear, plum, lemon, banana and a plastic knife that makes a realistic cutting sound. Age: 3+ years

"Wonderful toy, durable, and realistic!" 2009-06-15
By Luke's Mom (Texas)
My son has this set and loves it. The crunching sound the velcro makes as it's "cut" with the knife is very realistic and the 8 piece orange (4 sections of fruit, 4 of peel) and the peelable banana are awesome. We have purchased this for other children with play kitchens and have the same response. My son loved the Wiggles at age 2-3 and his favorite song was "Fruit Salad," so guess what we got prepared for us each day?! I have never seen this in stores, even learning stores, where they only seem to have the wooden kind. I think these are much more realistic and very durable. None of the pieces are small and are appropriate for toddlers.

"Great play fruit!" 2009-06-03
By L. Muldoon (Mahanoy City, PA)
The fruit set is a great companion to the veggies Small World makes too! My son has fun "cutting" the fruits & veggies. He has a pot/pan playset too & pretends to cook them. Lots of fun!

"Great Toy!" 2009-01-20
By Maria W (United States)
I bought this for my 19month old son. He had played with similar set that his OT has, and loved it. We play with it together, as he is under the recommended age. He likes pulling all the fruit apart, and it's good for the strength in his fingers/hands. He likes playing that he's eating it, and feeding it to me. He likes me to name all the fruits. He even likes cleaning the fruit up back into the bowl, although I have to put the fruits back together for him at this point. He thinks it's really cool when I "cut" the fruit. He likes to do it too, but I have to line the knife up for him. The bowl is probably a little small for the generous amount of fruit, but it is a nice bowl. Of course, the fruits are not to scale, but it's only a toy...

I expect this toy to delight him for years to come, as he learns to put them back together, cut by himself, make fruit salad, grocery shop, and once he gets a kitchen set. I think this is nice play food to use even without the cutting/peeling feature. Oh, and the hook side is one color, and the loop side is another, so it's easy for me to figure out which way to put back together the pineaple and orange, which have more than two pieces.

"This is a great educational toy!" 2008-04-08
By crazymama11 (usa)
I bought this for my 3 year old daughter over a year ago, and she still likes to play with it. It is a great educational product too, she now know all of the names of the fruit. She likes to pretend to cook with me, she sits and cuts up her fruit and puts it in a pan. Absolutely worth the money!

"This is soooo cool!" 2010-02-21
By Kathy W (Baltimore)
OMG! This is soooo cool! I ordered it for a gift because it looked like a good toy for an infant and because of the outstanding reviews. Well, let me tell you, I'm glad the shower is tomorrow because I can't stop playing with it! My inner child likes the pretty colors, cute catepillar face on the handle, and the 7 great classical melodies -- even The William Tell Overture (theme from the Long Ranger--High Ho Silver! And Away!!!) OMG--I am getting much too excited over this toy!

It plays each tune for a little while, too. The sound is very exciting, uplifting, peppy. Oh, and pretty colored lights flash while it is playing, too! I am sure any child would love it. The music is not annoying, either.

It comes ready to play. When the batteries wear out, it takes 2 AA/LR6 batteries. The Baby Einstein toys are Disney. The package says this toy "encourages music discovery, hand-eye coordination, together time fun, and sound discovery". With classics by Mozart, Vivaldi, Rossini, and Chopin, it is a pretty cool baby-ipod (well, sorta).

Where were these neat toys when I was a kid!!!

I'm gonna push it just one more time . . .

"Happy grandmother" 2010-02-20
By Booklover
This is an excellent toy. The flashing lights are fun, but the classical music that it plays is wonderful to hear. My 3 year old granddaughter never tires of it and sometimes she uses it to drown out the sound of her baby sister's crying! At 8 months, her baby sister seems to be enjoying the lights and the music, too. It seems to be very well made, which is important.

"Ellie's FAVORITE" 2010-02-17
By Mamacita (OXFORD, MICHIGAN, US)
I bought this toy for my new grandaughter at Christmas and it is already her favorite! She's 4 months old now and just starting to be able to grasp things in purposeful movement. The music and blinking lights keep her mesmerized and she is beginning to try to hold it herself - or chew it, depending on her mood! Great toy!

"excellent product and a life saver" 2010-02-17
By kolibrik
I simply cannot imagine raising our baby without this toy. From the first months when the baby could not yet play with it, we were turning on the music when dressing, changing diapers or just playing with the baby - the little one loved to listen and if crying, calmed down very fast (seemed to love both the sound and the lights). As the baby grew, she loved "dancing" to the tunes when laying on her back or held vertically, and when she started grabbing things, she loved the bright colors, pushing the button or playing with the handle as the teether. Great purchase, definitely one of the best toys we've got for the baby!

Customer Buzz
"Great for eye development too!" 2010-02-17
By Sarah K (Brooklyn Park, MN USA)
Everything the previous reviewers have said is exactly the case... I received this from my cousin-in-law (more like a sis-in-law, haha) and the toy captures the attention of my now 3 month old crazy good. He will watch it for quite some time. He can't hold it himself yet, so I don't know how long it will keep him entertained on his own. I like to move it up down and around to have my baby's eyes follow the lights and sound, and I'm pretty sure this is a great way to help with eye development.

Downside, like previously mentioned by others, is that the songs are short and there is no continuous loop option. But that's it!

LOVE IT!
