Have had quite a a few problems with the pieces falling apart, in particular the bed. It actually came broke. My daughters are not rough with the stuff. I don't know if they ran out of glue in China or what.

I bought this dollhouse as a Christmas present for the little girl I nanny for, and I think that it's the best gift I've ever given any child! She was 18-months-old at the time and just really getting into the idea of pretend play. She started playing with it immediately upon opening it, and literally has played with it every day in the month-and-a-half since. I've already seen her play develop in that short span of time, and I love the toy because it will grow with her for several years. As an early childhood educater, I'm always on the lookout for "developmentally appropriate" toys that encourage imagination and critical thinking, and this is definitely one of those toys. I also love the fact that it's not plastic (so you know it's safe) and there is nothing battery-operated about it (really, the downfall of the American toy). The size of the dollhouse is just right for a toddler's first dollhouse with just enough furniture to make it interesting, but not so much as to be overwhelming. I can't say enough about this toy. I was so excited to find it!

My 2 1/2 year old grandson loves this dollhouse, has the dolls act out various situations, and adds animals from his barn set for additional drama. I consider this an excellent aid to imaginative play, so much so that I bought a second one to send to my granddaughter, who is younger than the grandson, and whose mother reports that it is a favorite toy.
I do have two small issues with it:
1) There are only a man and a woman doll; it needs a child and/or baby doll.
2) The house is pink and should be a more neutral color like yellow or green.
