Repositionable toys include a soft hanging monkey, a soft toucan with jingle, an elephant with soft ears and a spinner with beads, a parrot with a paddle spinner and a frog character mirror. Two satin butterflies fly around above baby as colored lights pulse on and off while music plays. The large mat has a quilted rainforest underside, sun ray ribbons, and a soft tiger tail. A large soft giraffe sits at the bottom of the rainbow arch and has two points on which to link toys for baby. Mom can also link the toys to any of three link points on the mat as well as to any of five link points overhead for a total of 11 places to link toys for baby. This bright and cheery activity center features a quilt with a silky border and colorful arches supported by an adorable giraffe. A variety of links let you attach toys up above or down below to capture baby's attention. A cushy monkey, jingly toucan, cute elephant, and parrot with spinning paddle invite baby to bat them around, an action that helps develop gross motor skills. You can also place baby on her stomach for some back-strengthening "tummy time." For added excitement, there's a spinner with rattling beads, spinning butterflies, a shiny mirror, and a crinkly leaf.
Three Modes of Play
To suit baby's mood, this gym offers three modes of play. In the first mode, baby's movements set off eight to 12 seconds of lights and music, which helps teach your child about the relationship between cause and effect. Another option is the music mode, which develops baby's auditory sense with 20 minutes of continuous music. Finally, the rainforest mode plays 20 continuous minutes of rainforest sounds while baby plays or simply relaxes--don't be surprised if he's soothed right off to dreamland!

Keeps my baby's interest for quite awhile! I did read other comments and I have to agree that I wish the butterfly "mobile" actually moved! Other than that, I'm glad I purchased this!

This product is worth every penny! Even as a newborn my baby loved the flashing lights. As your baby develops, they will have more and more fun discovering new things to do. Also this is very cute, colorful,and well made. I place it on the bed with the baby in and she lets me fold laundry while she entertains herself.

I bought this for my grandson, and he absolutely loves it! My daughter thought since he was only 3 months old he would be too young for it, but she said when she put him on the mat and started the music and lights, he started kicking his feet around, and cooing loudly as he started watching the lights and his little head kept moving around looking at everything on this.

My husband bought this for our daughter as her first Christmas present. I thought it would be months before she would use it but she seemed to enjoy it right away. Initially she stared at the lights until she fell asleep. Now she kicks and bats at all the toys. She coos and "talks" to the lights and butterflies above. She loves the music and even gets a little fussy in the gaps between melodies. This is the ONLY toy with music that she likes, the rest make her cry. With this we can usually entertain her long enough to eat a peaceful dinner.
The mat was easy to set up, folds in half nicely to move around, doesn't go through batteries too fast, cleans up easily. I just put the bottom part in the washer and air dry. It only takes an hour or two to dry.
My only negative is that it is a little hard for me to interact with her because there is so much stuff above her. I find myself laying down beside her instead of kneeling over her. It makes tummy time a little harder too, just because it is a little awkward to put her in and roll her over.
Otherwise this is an awesome buy! My daughter loves it and I will be sad when she is too big to use it. I look forward to buying the Rainforest Jumperoo and hope she likes it as much as the gym.

Im in favor of parents having a gym or playmat for their babies. With those hanging toys, the baby can start by staring at them and then grasping/pulling when they grow up.
It sets a boundary between our pet and the baby. My infant's too happy to play around her mat and our dog knows the rules not to join her. I have yet to observe how it goes when she starts crawling.
Have a gym for your baby. As for folding mechanism, it your preference. In our case, our gym remains statically in place around the house. I dont desire to lug the gym and toys. Personally we use the bumbo and hand her toys to distract her.
Gym with four section of hanging toys is nice, esp. when my baby starts rolling. She rolls on her left and right and sees a different toy everytime. She has started circling around, though i dont think its crawling. Its good for her to seea variety of visual stimulation as she circles.
Id advise not to put too much distracting toys beyond the mat, so the baby may observe the color contrast of her playmat and plain surroundings.Much like a colorful oasis.
